Sussex is a historic county of England, hinting it has existed for many hundred years and has been utilised for many assorted intentions, and accordingly creates a foundation for the ignorant English government. As a historic county, it can also be legally mentioned to as an ageold country, making it a model tourist location. The county’s industries are specialised in agriculture, clay-working, and iron-working. Tourism is also a historic, developing industry in the county due to the peaceful disposition of the region which has, in time, caught some suitable consideration from knowledgeable explorer. There are many frames of references of Sussex that are of benefit, all of which are worthy of noteworthy consideration. It is also excellent to report that the region is broken into an Eastern portion and a Western portion.

There are a number of places of interest well worth visiting within the county, with its long and colourful history providing much of the backdrop for exciting excursions. One of the most visited places of interest is Chichester Cathedral; The Royal Chantry located in the middle of Chichester is the 900-year-old site of the resting place of Saint Richard of Chichester. In nearby Singleton is the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, a major national museum of historic architecture and a look into the way of traditional rural living in the area. There are literally dozens of high quality historic places of interest all within a relatively small area of the county.

There are a lot of things to do in Sussex. On the coast, one can experience the charm of the English seaside and visit lovely ports and frolic on the sand.

In the countryside, one can walk on the South Downs and pass through beautiful forests enchanted with various fauna and flora. Old-fashioned English roses adorn gardens in Sussex, and one can take beautiful pictures of them in the Sussex Weald.

For a more historical trip, visit places where English history was made and written. The site of the Battle of Hastings and Newhaven fort are must visits.

If shopping is in mind, Sussex also offers a variety of choices from expensive department stores to quirky little one-off shops that provide authentic English shopping.

Those coming to Sussex expecting delectable food will not be disappointed. There are endless ch

oices of good dining in the county ranging from gourmet menus served in top restaurants to homemade dishes in country pubs.

Sussex offers the best of British cuisine made with organic produce cultivated right in its own backyard. Chefs and farmers put a premium on creating excellent local offerings, and one will be delighted to find the farmer’s market full of interesting gastronomic surprises like Selsey prawns, Sussex cheeses, and Romsey Marsh lamb.

Not only is Sussex excellent in food, the county also produces locally aged vintages that compete with French champagne in taste. Trying sparkling wine from Sussex is definitely a must.

There are no definitive seasons to visit Sussex, as it is always full of activities. Highbrow events such as the Italian Opera and the Russian Ballet frequent the region, as well as popular boy bands, brand new plays, salsa dancing, and sport shows.
Aside from England’s largest festival right in the heart of Brighton, Sussex also offers small and intimate festivals showcasing excellent music, art, drama, literature, and dance. Those seeking to experience cultural masterpieces will not be disappointed.
Music is the soul of Sussex, and its many pubs and clubs are always filled with live music from all genres. Independent artists and undiscovered bands play to the delight of the audience every night, while anything goes at Brighton’s frequented clubs.

To escape the bustle of dull and dreadful London, a trip down to Sussex is highly recommended. Not only does this fabulous escape offer the best of English history and culture, it also offers a quaint charm that is characterised by its simplicity and its deeply ingrained cultural tradition.
